The Sparms Journey
While working in the golf industry, Mimi spent long days under relentless sun, coaching kids who were scorching, burning and constantly forgetting to reapply sunscreen. Driven by the need for a smarter defence layer, Mimi created the first Sparms prototype in her garage. What began as protection for kids quickly evolved into a solution for adults, expanding from golfers to athletes across all sports.
While attending the US Open, Mimi found herself surrounded by athletes wearing Sparms. When someone asked a player, “What’s that? Everyone’s wearing it,” the answer said it all: Sparms had become part of the LPGA Tour uniform. That moment marked a turning point. What began in a garage had outgrown its walls, and the growing demand saw Sparms move into its first office warehouse in Molendinar, QLD.
As the world changed during the COVID-19 pandemic, Sparms adapted. The team pivoted quickly, applying their performance fabric expertise to create face masks.
Continued growth saw Sparms move again, this time into a larger office warehouse in Nerang. The brand was scaling, refining, and reinforcing its position as the ultimate defence layer for athletes everywhere.
